This Safeguarding Adults at Risk eLearning course provides essential training to help learners recognise, understand and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns involving adults who may be vulnerable due to age, disability, health or social circumstances. The course explores key legal and ethical responsibilities, how to identify signs of abuse or neglect, and what actions should be taken to protect adults at risk. Learners will gain practical guidance on reporting procedures, respectful communication and how to contribute to safe environments that uphold dignity, rights and wellbeing.


Course Aims

The primary aims of the Safeguarding Adults at Risk course are to:

  • Introduce the principles of adult safeguarding and why it matters in health, social care and community settings
  • Raise awareness of the types of abuse and neglect that adults at risk may experience
  • Clarify legal, ethical and organisational responsibilities for recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns
  • Provide guidance on identifying signs and indicators of abuse or risk
  • Encourage appropriate action and reporting behaviours that protect adults’ rights and wellbeing

By the end of this 45-minute awareness course, learners will be able to:
