This Mental Health Awareness eLearning course provides a comprehensive introduction to mental health, its importance in everyday life and the workplace, and how individuals and organisations can contribute to positive mental wellbeing. Learners will explore what mental health is, common mental health conditions, how to recognise signs of distress in themselves and others, and practical strategies to support wellbeing and resilience. The course also emphasises reducing stigma, effective communication and how to access appropriate support and resources.
Course Aims
The primary aims of the Mental Health Awareness course are to:
- Explain what mental health is and why it matters for individuals and organisations
- Raise awareness of common mental health conditions and how they may present
- Break down stigma and misconceptions related to mental health
- Provide practical strategies for supporting personal wellbeing and resilience
- Encourage supportive behaviours and communication that help create mentally healthy environments

By the end of this 60-minute awareness course, learners will be able to:
- Understand the concept of mental health, including factors that influence it and its impact on wellbeing
- Recognise common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges in themselves and others
- Explain how stigma affects help-seeking and support, and how to challenge it
- Apply practical self-help and coping strategies to maintain and improve mental wellbeing
- Demonstrate supportive workplace behaviours, including listening skills and knowing where to signpost for further help and resources
