This Health & Safety Awareness eLearning course provides a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of workplace health and safety. Learners will gain essential understanding of key legal requirements, risk management basics, hazard recognition and how individual behaviours contribute to a safer working environment. The course supports employees and managers across industries to recognise common workplace risks, understand their responsibilities under health and safety law, and adopt effective safety practices that reduce accidents and promote wellbeing.


Course Aims

The primary aims of the Health & Safety Awareness course are to:

  • Introduce the principles of health and safety at work, including why proactive safety measures are important.
  • Explain legal duties and responsibilities of employers and employees under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and related guidance.
  • Raise awareness of common workplace hazards and risk factors, and how they can be identified and controlled.
  • Provide practical guidance on risk assessment, hazard prevention and basic health and safety procedures.
  • Support a positive safety culture, encouraging safe behaviours and effective incident reporting.

By the end of this 45-minute module, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of health and safety at work and how it benefits individuals and organisations.
