This Abrasive Wheels Awareness eLearning course provides concise, practical training designed to raise understanding of abrasive wheels, the hazards they pose, and the essential precautions required to use them safely in the workplace. The course is suitable for anyone who works with or around abrasive wheels, including those using grinders, cut-off saws and other abrasive cutting tools. It emphasises legal responsibilities, hazard recognition, safe working practices and basic control measures necessary to reduce the risk of injury.

Course Aims

The primary aims of the course are to:

• Increase awareness of what abrasive wheels are and why competence in their use matters for health and safety.
• Highlight the key risks and common hazards associated with abrasive wheels, including mechanical and non-mechanical dangers.
• Explain legal and regulatory requirements, helping learners understand their duties under relevant safety standards.
