Safeguarding Children and Young People

This Safeguarding Children and Young People eLearning course provides essential training on recognising, understanding and acting to protect children and young people from abuse, harm and neglect. Learners will explore key safeguarding principles, legal frameworks and organisational expectations that underpin child protection. The course explains how to identify signs and indicators of abuse, how to respond appropriately and sensitively, and the correct procedures for reporting concerns. It supports staff in creating safe environments where children and young people are respected, protected and supported.

Course Aims

The primary aims of the Safeguarding Children and Young People course are to:

• Introduce core safeguarding principles and why protecting children and young people is critical
• Raise awareness of types of abuse and harm that children and young people may experience
• Clarify legal, ethical and organisational responsibilities for recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns
