This Food Safety & Hygiene (Level 2) eLearning course is designed to provide learners with essential knowledge and practical practices for safe food handling, preparation and hygiene within a workplace environment. It builds on basic awareness to explain how food safety risks occur, how food contamination and food-borne illness can be prevented, and what legal and workplace requirements exist to protect consumers and staff. This training is suitable for anyone who prepares, handles or serves food and supports compliance with UK food safety expectations.


Course Aims

The primary aims of the Food Safety & Hygiene (Level 2) course are to:

  • Explain core food safety principles, including what food safety means and why it matters to protect consumers.
  • Raise awareness of food safety hazards and how contamination leads to food-borne illness.
  • Clarify legal responsibilities relating to food hygiene and food safety law in the UK.
