This Fire Safety eLearning course provides essential awareness training on the principles of fire safety in the workplace and everyday environments. The course introduces learners to how fires start and spread, the common hazards and causes associated with fire, and the practical measures that help prevent fires from occurring. It also covers how to respond safely in the event of a fire by understanding evacuation procedures, recognising fire warnings and knowing the appropriate action to take. This training supports compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and is suitable for all employees, regardless of role or experience.


Course Aims

The primary aims of the Fire Safety course are to:

  • Explain the nature of fire, including the fire triangle and how fires ignite and develop.
  • Raise awareness of workplace fire hazards and common causes of fires so learners can help prevent them.
  • Clarify legal duties and compliance expectations, including basic responsibilities under UK fire safety legislation.
  • Provide guidance on safe evacuation procedures, warning systems and how to act in a fire emergency.
  • Introduce fire risk reduction techniques and simple preventive actions learners can take in their daily work.

By the end of this 30-minute training module, learners will be able to:

  • Understand basic fire safety responsibilities for employees and employers under relevant workplace safety regulations.
  • Identify the types of fire equipment and alarm systems that may be present and when they should be used.
  • Explain evacuation protocols and emergency response actions, including how to behave safely if a fire occurs.
